Shares graph updated
I have updated my peformance in the shares graph - as you will see it looks terrible!
I will for the time being not add any further funds to the account just to see them dissapear - once there is a reversal I will again begin to add money.
I will also again change my current strategy. I have had a couple shares perform well recenlty. But I have not opperated a stop and target on every single share. Typically these have been the only ones performing well, I have seen my few gains turn into losses.
ALL shares will now have targets regardless of how speculative they might be. I will only trade short term stocks, holding anything from 1 day to a few weeks. I will operate tight rising stops to lock in any profits.
Interesting fact
After 2 days of more suffering this week, tomorrow could be a milestone day - If the value drops as it has consistently done for the last 5 months, I will be in a position where I need to make a 100% gain to regain all my lost profits
However, since I am now holding nearly 50% cash, I actually need to make closer to a 200% gain on my current portfolio. Sadly I am not expecting my shares to to triple in value in the immediate future!
Bugger
After a good start to the week as far as shres are concerned (by good I mean only making a small loss) it all turned sour. Thursday everything I owned tanked, just minutes after adding funds and buying into new positions. I wont discuss politics - but the problems in Lebanon are affecting my pocket and I am not happy!
To add to my financial suffering, it now seems I need to waste further weeks finding some new web developers, the current ones have been extremely slow, not communicating, and sent me an email today asking the most shockingly basic questions about the code. Not reassuring when I am employing and paying them thousands for their expertise in such areas.
So, next week I shall most likely be on the hunt for someone to take over, and will then have to start up the lengthy process of going through specs, agreeing budgets, milestones and studying existing code. As far as I am concerned it is effectively another 4 - 6 weeks wasted while no developemetns are happpening. Quite annoying when next week I was supposed to be talking about the launch of a site which has been in development for over 20 months. It will now be a a few more months away.
Still never mind - chin up. I hope to have further news to announce next week anyway.
I shall also start to write a little more commentry about my shares. For anyone about to invest money all you have to do is completley avoid anything I mention!
New site - onesiteinamillion.com
Whooo-haaaa. Finally the day has come I have got something of interest to say. This morning a new site went live!
onesiteinamillion.com - the concept is very simple. My aim (not disimilar to my millionaire target), is to get 1,000,000 sites added. Each time the site is launched one advertising site is featured randomly on the homepage. If someone stumbles accross onesiteinamillion.com and is uninterested they will be ‘made aware’ of one site/advert on our homepage - much like any traditional banner ad. However, for those that are just browing they are likely to keep clicking ‘next’ until they find a site they wish to visit. So it should work in sending targeted traffic too.
Please check the site out, let me know what you think. If have a site then why not add it, and if you can, please please please add a link to onesiteinamillion. In order to get anywhere near the target of 1,000,000 I need all the help I can.
For those interested or who know about SEO the site should help advertisers own sites in search engines. I anticipate at least a google pagerank of 3 very quickly, and use no redirection code, all sites are hardlinked.
This week….
Everything was pretty uneventful last week. Shares dropping back at usual rate, now at an all time low. Other than that not much to report
This week I hope to have a new site out, and will have absolutely everything copied and set up on to the new server.
Update
2 days ago England got knocked out of the world cup… I won’t dwell on this but one thing has become clear, no matter how good the team, or how easy our route to the final England will never win the world cup. We cannot perform well when we need to, and we REALLY cannot take penalties. There is always some excuse, but there were no signs of a good performance and we didn’t deserve to win.
People up and down the country will now be cheering on a Scottish player at Wimbledon, clearly a sign of desperate times!
Despite the dissapointment I am not too disheartened - I no longer have to waste hours watching woeful sporting efforts, and instead of concentrating on our nations failures I can get back to concentrating on my own personal goals.
June was not a bad month, average company income even though I have wasted well over a week with these server problems - still not completely fixed!
My shares performance was not bad, there were some good signs at the end of the week, and although still made a loss for the month, the rate at which I am losing money has slown down a little!
July should be a better month, more site news coming soon… more money going to be made…. so stay tuned!
