More than ONE million
I have realised that I am writing more than just about making 1 million Great British pounds here. Some of the sites which I hope will help me reach this goal seem to have a similar concept… 1 million. So from today I am going to track the progress of these on a very simple little bar chart. I’ve even used different colours to make it look nice.

My Space 2.5K
This is a rather boring post, I have now reached 2.5K members on my myspace friends list. I have met few useful contacts since I was at 1K, so my theory that having larger number of friends means much worse quality certainly seems true. There is an increasing list of idiots on there too, so I have decided to be quite blunt and rude in my profile.
My main concern now is my target of 100K friends to low to be of any use to me? Who knows, lets just keep going and see what happens!

Graphs Update
Just a quick note to say I have updated the graphs and shares statistics….
The graph appears to have taken a sudden lunge, this is because due to the ongoing web devlopment I have taken out a large chunk of free cash in my trading account. The graph shows losses relative to a smaller value, hence the sudden drop - this is not de to a drop in share value!
Gone 12:30pm, I do have some work to do, but will retire shortly as I will try to keep to my routine of early nights and early mornings.
New Strategy
Okay, this isn’t exactly a new strategy but I have decided that rather than working to 3am to instead go to bed at a normal hour, but get up much earlier to do some work! Not entirely certain what difference this will make, perhaps it will make me feel more human!
New Site Launching Fri 24th November
Okay, have to get tough - I am announcing this coming Friday 24th Novemeber 5:00pm as the launch for a new site, so check back then. It does not matter if it is not quite ready, there will be a few features to add and problems to iron out anyway….
Own Community/Dating Site devlopment
I have also continued with devlopment on a community type site of my own, this is not going to be the beast I once wanted, but it will have core functions which I want from it, and after looking at other sites which are still making money it seems that it will still be worthwhile launching. This is some way off, the admin area is being finalised, there is a futher user area to develop and then the front end to code, redesign templates and lauch. It wont be ready before the end of 2006
Joint Venture
I am in the process of looking into a joint venture with a company I have promoted sites for in the past. We have found what we think is a gap in the market and with both our expertise think we can develop a unique site… not giving anythign away for obvious reasons, but this is definitely a very exciting. devlopment for me - and my business partner too of course!
Sleep, Work, Baby sitting and PPC
Thats pretty much what my life consists of these days with nothing in between and very little sleep.
Sleep - 4 hours
I heard yesterday that over half population gets less the 5 hours sleep a night, which I know I certianly do, not much more than 4 on average….
Work - Today is meant to be one of my full days of working 9-5, unforutnately our lovely daughter has decided she does not like to spend time at our child minders, so instead I shall fit a few minutes around her sleep!
Baby Sitting - Anytime not spent sleeping or working.
Depending on how the afternoon goes I might be playing with Phoebes new toys (and her!), or she might be back at childminders allowing me to do a few hours.
Of course I dont mind spending time with our baby, just means that I have to prioritise, and sleep comes last!
I also read that people who sleep less than 6 hours live longer, so while I am not able to put in the hours today, I will be around longer so can make them up somewhere else!
Todays plan - I am going to investigate some PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. I currently use and make money using google adwords, but there are others out there and potentially with less people and less competion it might work out at better value. So time to up my advertising spend for a couple of months.
I am also, much later in the day, going to begin promoting onesiteinamillion.com - with nothing done on that front for a while new enquiries have dried up, I have a few ideas to start drumming up attention again.
MySpace Whore
After my initial hatered for myspace I am beginning to think that it could well turn out to be a very useful marketing tool. I still firmly believe that as a social community site itsfeatures are poor….
I have these last few days been whoring myself on myspace. This is the term used for a strategy to gain more “friends”, who are all potential contacts/affiliates/customers. It is a strategy which involves asking your contacts to post bulletins to all their friends asking them to add you, in return you do the same. It appears to work as in a relatively short time I have got over 1,000 contacts - as a random target figure I would like to have somewhere in the region of 100,000.
The quality of these “friends” is a different issue. This strategy only works if your friends have themselves lots of friends. The most likely people to respond are those who are doing the same, people just looking for large number of contacts, not only people they wish to interact with. This probably means my contact list is populated by lots of people completely unintersted in me, and who are themselves trying to sell me or sign me up to something! Thats why if you are after numbers I think you need VERY large numbers due to the poor quality of them…..
All that being said I firmly intend to continue. I have already spoken to a couple of people who have proved to be good networking contacts so it had been a worthwhile exercise already.

Happy Birthday
It is our lovely daughters 1st Birthday today! Woohoo. Happy Birthday Phoebe.
Obviously wont be donig much work now, in fact I am just off to the park with her.
Hopefully by the time I get back my bank balance will have increased substantially.
