As you may well have gathered by now my name is Tim. Although this really is all you will need to know about me I shall share with you the sequence of events that led to me creating this website.
1980 - 1999
October 11th 1980, a damn fool was born. His name: Tim Rees. The younger of two brothers, one father and one mother.
At the age of 4 he moved with his family to Mexico where he learned a little Spanish and went to school mostly with Americans. Then at the age of 7 he returned to England sounding a little silly saying things like “bathroom” instead of “toilet”
As a boy Tim dreamt of being rich and successful, working behind a large desk in a tall sky scraper. Convinced of this destiny he failed to plan any of the details - what would the business be? How would it be financed? What steps were involved in getting there? Should the business cards be embossed AND eggshell?
Worse still Tim rarely studied, his grades got worse through his school years. GCSE’s came and went, despite achieving “good” grades, most people - especially Tim knew he should have done better.
By the time it came to A-levels Tim had since discovered alcohol and other less wholesome distractions. These were more of a priority than studies. Brief spells of work still gave teachers misplaced confidence to put him forward to interviews at Cambridge…… these did not go well! Quickly Tim returned to enjoying himself rather applying himself.
After ignoring the countless warnings and even with Tim doing his very best to cram 2 years of studies into a few days it was no surprise that the grades needed to go to University were not met. A whole day was spent contemplating the future and when Tim had just about come to terms with the end of his time in academic institutions he made one final call and was shocked to discover that his insurance place at Exeter University had been held despite he had got only 1 of the 3 grades needed.
