Reliability

So I’ve got a Volvo sat in the drive with 2 flat tyres…. Why the hell have I still got that heap!?

I was doing some serious mileage in the past so opted for a “sensible”, quite fast but RELIABLE car to get me from A to B. Over the past 12 months this is just how reliable it has been….

4 x punctures
1 x blow out at speed
1 x new engine
1 x new radiator
2 x cam belts
2 x full services
1 x faulty throttle housing connector
other intermittent engine management problems - still unknown source
2 x road side recovery
9 x Points on my license
Over £500 in fines.

I am most definitely not impressed. At this rate it would have been sensible to get an extremely non-sensible car, it would have cost me less maintenance and probably got me less fines. The only thing stopping me upgrading to something ridiculous now is the fear of losing my license…

Tim - TVR!!!!! I still miss my TVR, it’s entirely unsensible, entirely fast (my Tuscan was 3.6seconds 0-60) and didn’t break down too much - okay, about 6 times in 18 months of ownership.

But if you have a TVR and something small and silly like a Smart car then you can always use that as backup.

If you’re gonna get that many reliability problems and get 9 points (dude!!!) then you might as well enjoy the experience :)

    “entirely unsensible, entirely fast”

Sounds like just the motor for me. It’s on the short list! :)
